USL Planters - Event: Book Launch
March 26,2021
Opportunity always presents itself unexpectedly, a blessing in disguise. I was in the process of building my website. Therefore, proactively working on website layout along with creating content for blog postings. Against schedules chalked, I had to pause to help my friend Madhavi Raju – Lifestyle coach, Founder of Affinity 7 fold secret (Affinity7.co), with her book launch. We gathered to create an event plan, and amid our discussion, her husband Santhosh proposed making planters, a token of gratitude for chief guests. It’s said; if you wish for something, the universe will make way for it. For instance, while designing this website, one secret desire was to have a completed project to display my talent. In other words, my wish came true, indeed a hands-on experience to showcase.
Accordingly, I agreed with gratefulness and wanted to step up the game. After that unfolded an idea to make additional ten planters (free goodies) to kick start sales. The intention was to get planters to complement Madhavi’s book -Unconditional Self Love, cover page. (It is crucial to be able to love yourself unconditionally and see life transforming beautifully. Clueless about where to start, read this book. You can purchase a copy on https://www.amazon.in/Unconditional-Self-Love-Madhavi-Raju/dp/1637814852/.)
After creating a custom design, I discussed the plan with my business/ life partner Sudeep. Immediately we both set out to make 15 planters and, a remarkable journey commenced! Work began with upcycled storage tins and plastic ice-cream containers for goodies. For Mementos, working on IKEA metal planters seemed perfect. However, maximum efforts went into removing already existing paint on metal planters and tin containers. Initially, I tried everything to have old paint lifted but failed. Besides, it was equally vital in achieving this for the new paint to stick. Holding on to a glimmer of hope, I was determined and eventually succeeded!!
Along with Mom (she is extremely good with plants) and Sudeep’s help with painting, stickers, and suggestions on ‘even better if’ the USL planters completed as anticipated. In conclusion, although it took one week of trials and one week of implementation, everyone loved them!. On the whole, a memorable journey filled with learning experiences. Most importantly, my creativity made its mark. It felt like a cherry on the icing when my friends said; we will pay for your planters.
Take a look at USL planters and book launch in the gallery. If you have an upcoming event and want personalized planters, send me a message. Mention your requirements, along with your contact number. I would be happy to work with you.
